Technical Requirements
Hardware:
A computer purchased in the last 5 years will more than likely be just fine. Specifically,
we recommend a CPU 2.0 GHZ or greater and RAM 4 GB or greater.
Operating System:
PC: Windows 8, 8.1, or 10*
Mac: OS 10.12 or greater*
*A variety of devices and operating systems were used to test the supported browsers.
Support is not limited to these specific operating systems. The desktop browser versions
below are supported regardless of the particular device or operating system on which
they run.
Internet Browsers:
Firefox: 78.0 or greater
Chrome: 87.0 or greater
Safari: 13.0 or greater (Mac version only)
Edge: 87.0 or greater
Both PC and Mac users should install Firefox and/or Chrome in addition to their default
browser. This ensures that all users have two Canvas compatible browsers to provide
an alternative option, should a technical issue arise.
Later versions of Edge (Windows) and Safari (Mac) are supported by Canvas, but it
is our recommendation to use Firefox or Chrome for a better user experience.
Submitting Work:
All documents, presentations, spreadsheets, etc., that are uploaded to Canvas need
to be saved in MS Office format (.doc, .docx, .ppt, .pptx, .xls, .xlsx extensions).
